​Questions:
​Do I need a doctor's referral to see you? No.​ Acupuncturists/Herbalists can serve as your primary health care provider in the State of California. S/he can order blood tests, urine and stool samples in order to give you a more comprehensive treatment plan.

​Do you take insurance? We accept VA Insurance and United Health Care Workers. Give us a call and we will quickly verify your insurance coverage for acupuncture. For all other insurances, we will give you a Superbill so that you can submit it to your insurance company for reimbursement.

​Are the needles sterile? Yes. We use pre-sterilized disposable needles that are individually packaged. They are used only once and then disposed of as medical waste.

​I hate needles! Will Acupuncture Hurt? Acupuncture filaments are thinner than a human hair. Most patients feel a pleasant relaxation, a momentary tingling or a heavy sensation. Needles can be taped to the acupuncture point or simply held to the acupuncture point (contact needling) in order to achieve therapeutic results, for those who can not tolerate needling. Magnets are used on children. ​

Will I look like a porcupine, like in the movies? No. Acupuncturists are trained to use the fewest number of needles possible. They are also trained to help patients in the fewest number of visits for their condition.

​Are You Well Trained? Yes. I have meticulously studied Chinese/Japanese Medicine for over 11 years. To further deepen my knowledge of the medicine, I added additional clinic shifts and classes. I volunteered at acupuncturists' clinics. The California Licensure Exam for acupuncturists/herbalists is known to be a very rigorous exam. Pacific College of Oriental Medicine is well respected nationally and internationally. Courses are taught by Chinese Medical Doctors Licensed Acupuncturists/Herbalists (L.Ac), Western Medical Doctors, chiropractors, therapists, physical therapists and professors who are highly respected and proficient in their respective fields. The education is competitive with weekly tests and yearly proficiency exams.
